However, the verb to fire really only relates to black powder weapons or later. You don't fire a bow or catapult you shoot them.

And more pedantism. The second-to-last sentence, "The round tower was harder to undermine as the structure inherently stronger," appears to be missing a "was" - "was inherently stronger"
