I was intrigued to hear this morning that civil servants were casting doubt as to gordon brown's character and whether his personality would lend itself to premier primeministership! Well you might be interested to learn that Joseph Stalin was born in the Year of the Metal Rabbit, as indeed is Gordon Brown, albeit sixty years on! Theodora Lau who is the definitive epxert on all things Chinese and astrological describes metal rabbits as 'inclined to dark moods... [and as someone who] will allow only a handful of people into the inner sanctum of his life because of his many hidden inhibitions.' Well, we have all observed his tendency to brooding and indifference when it suits. Theodora also cleverly describes this kind of rabbit as 'more preoccupied with his desires, goals and creative urges....adding that 'he will be more cunning, but his ambitiousness will be carefuly concealed with cool logic and intelligence.'
As if that wasn't enough to be going on with, when analysing the Chinese and Western traits together, Piscean rabbits are she asserts, 'noncommittal in [a] pleasant and agreeable way, and [inclined] to a certain amount of narcissm.' Could this account for the look of smugness that is often caught on camera?
Whether Gordon Brown shares these traits is for you to judge. The author also states that the 'native of the rabbit sign, will, when [pushed too far} discard anything or anyone who dares upset the calm of his existence, leading to a repressive behaviour with a predilection for secrecy or brooding, who when threatened, could express
his concealed antagonism by the use of subversive tactics.'

Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply, I've been offline for weeks. Saw Have I got News for You last night, on which Mark Steel was asked whether he'd been any happier with Brown than Blair. His reply was that following Blair was 'like being the doctor who has to take over after Harold Shipman'.
