I was in Santa Monica just a few days ago, and got into "trouble" with the police several times. Mostly for crossing, or trying to cross street at inappropriate times, such as when the red stop-sign starts to blink, indicating that you better hurry. Santa Monica is swarming with police, and they take their job real seriously. That is probably good, Santa Monica could easily be a paradise for real scoundrels. So I guess we will just have to cross the streets in the appropriate manner.
