I read somewhere recently that it wasn't a Kiwi that invented this and it was brought over from some place in the States.
Can anyone verify this?

Well I have heard the same myself and, oddly enough, it was on Holmes under the topic "We're bored so yuo may as well be too" or soemthing like that. Anyway, they discovered that it wasn't a kiwi after like we so love to claim, but some german bloke because some old lady said her dear old grandfather brought one back from Germay.
As far as I know the facts there are straight but I have often known to be wrong, so best of all, between us we know it definitely did NOT come from New Zealand.

I heard some lady brought it from canada.... as for paul holmes, wait until you are subjected by womans magazines to tales of his sex life. I almost had to become celibate!

"We were in a restaurant in Parnell and Fleur went to the ladies. When she came out she handed me her panties. I couldn't resist any longer," Holmes, the autobiography.
Buzzy bees first appeared in the USA in the 30s. A visiting kiwi brought one home and began making some for his friends children.
A legend was born. A bit like the pavlova and Aussies.

Ugh again, still least that stuff is pseudo-optional. That quote below from his biography was enough to make me want to retch. Please tell me she looks/acts like he does.

She was an minor news reporter for TVNZ.
Not bad looking. She made quite a bit of money selling her story to women's magazines.
Went on to host some obscure, can't remember its name, TV show and has since sunk back into bland, mindless, Auckland cafe poseur society.
Key: Complain about this post
