A Conversation for Atmospheric Pollution from the Internal Combustion Engine in the Urban Environment

Nice entry , TRiG! I was once told by someone who sounded like an expert that my old 1965 Triumph sports car (which I bought new and drove over 200K miles) created more pollution while it was sitting in the garage with the engine switched off (emitting fumes from poorly sealed petrol tank, chronic oil leaks, etc.) than a modern car produces while being driven on the highway. I don't doubt it. We've made progress in that area. And not at the cost of 'drivability' or 'fun' aspects of motoring.

Thanks. It had a very very long time in Peer Review, and now has Big Al's name on it too, because he gave a lot of help.
I have another entry in my head, and must get on to doing something about it. A few words on the screen would be nice.
TRiG.

'A few words on the screen would be nice'.
The hardest thing about any project is actually getting started
Many thanks for the credit BTW

See: "Blocked technology,Ammonia as fuel" on "You tube". If Ammonia`s energy density is only slightly less than the polluting taxed liquid sold in petrol stations, and people and our animals produce copious amounts of Ammonia, why is there no ammonia fueled transport?

Well, it is a realistic alternative and research is ongoing. The following is informative:

The main issues seem to be that it is a volatile, toxic gas. The toxicity can be circumvented, but there seems to be issues with the design of onboard fuel tanks. (Need to withstand high pressure to keep ammonia inb liquid form.
Key: Complain about this post
