Sorry to point out such a trifle but sashimi is actually sliced raw fish with no rice involvement, except perhaps as a side dish. Sushi is indeed, as you say, sticky rice often (but not always) wrapped in seaweed and often (but again far from alway) combined with some kind of uncooked fish product. Yum yum.

Apologies. Think of something really nasty. Ever try natto (fermented (read rotten) bean paste) sushi? - will put you off food for life...
