i have managed to find a non-dive pub without a dress code - but only if you can find four oaks, then the new inns on lichfield road ain't bad at all
as for the train line - i'm less than convinced that shenstone exists - you fall off the edge of the world if you try to go there 
p.s. - you didn't mention the rather decent number of good restaurants in the vicinity - but then i'm not naming them either in case i can't get a table
