mostly you are right...
Slough is a dump....but at least its west of london ... :D
and although our football team is hardly worth knowing, at least it's not owned by Elton John..
we also have a wonderful centre dedicated to the instant emptyness of shopping - ours is, however, called The Queensmere - Mere being an old english name for Mire or Bogland, Fen or Swamp, which is mirrored perfectly in the towns name Slough - two definitions are:
1. The action of a snake shedding its skin, also removal of outer garments reminiscent of this action.
2. A muddy, swampy bogland.
Also known in poetry (cant remember who - but famous enough to note) as The Slough of Despond.
I wont mention anything about 'Friendly Bombs'.
