"smiley - ok that is my record on a system I daily use so far.
The initial system was installed 1998 and has been refreshed every few months so far.

'as the number of DLL files on a computer increases over time.'
This is completely upon the use of the system nothing time related about it.

I can crash this system in a second by starting and stopping the wrong combination of programs (loading some mutually dependend libraries).

Most annoying of the blue screen is when you managed to reboot and then get the message _you_ had to stop the system in a normal fashion smiley - grrsmiley - steam. "

Traveller in Time smiley - tit on a polite system smiley - biggrin
"The key about the dlls is just _not_ time. I have the windows 95 system up and running continuous for months without any glitch, and it does that already for several years. The dll problem (if it is the dlls and not a memory leak or a disk related problem) is _not_ time dependend in any way.

If I would get a penny for all the insults musof addressed to me, I would be as rich as Mr Gates. "

Is mise Duncan

A percentage of windows related errors are due to memory leaks or integer overruns, both of which are time dependent...but, DLLs don't load "over time", they load on demand.

A tip for reducing your BSoD vulnerability is to remove any hardware drivers that you don't use - especially for second hand machines which may once have been attached to a different hardware setup. My only ever BSOD was eventually traced down to a hardware driver for a CD burner smiley - doh

The probability of such an event occurring increases depending upon what the operating system has been running, as the number of DLL files on a computer increases over usage.
