metaphor advances an elaboration of meaning in language but coceptual art interrupts that elaboration, intending to open the discoruses around precisely art representation, and a world of things. something like that anyway.

Something like that. The trouble is, even Conceptual artists don't agree on what Conceptualism is. Metaphor still exists; now that Conceptualism is nearing 40 years old, metaphor and self-referential elements have become almost inevitable. Once disruption becomes accepted, it becomes a metaphor. What does that make Conceptualism today?
