This article on Favicons is amazing!
You wrote it so well, I actually understood it!

I know this phrase "An example of the favicon.ico can be seen on h2g2, where the BBC graphic appears in the address bar." needs to be updated.

And maybe a few other things?
It would be well worth the effort!

Having that charming little favicon of h2g2 in my address bar is so comforting
I never really noticed it before smiley - smiley

Thank you for explaining it and thusly introducing me to a homey aspect of an internet that is becoming stranger by the minute smiley - weird

Thank you for your kind words.

Yes, this and a lot of Entries will need to be corrected over the coming months to strip out all the old BBC links.

To allow the background people a chance to recover from all the new people transferring to h2g2.com I'll leave this a few days and then report it to <./>Feedback-Editorial</.> where it will be corrected.

It's a great article, but I have a favor to ask. You mention how when people come to h2g2 they see the BBC favicon. Would you mind changing that, what with it no longer being true? smiley - smiley

Thanks!
