NY knows full and well that it does not work with a lot of cars and freely admits that they dont care. TRy to get information from them and they dont even know who is in charge.

I have been stuck in more toll's bacause the machine does not work and no one is willing to admit the there are MAJOR bugs that need to be fixed.

As to giving it away teh only trustfull thing it could be used as is a paperweight

the new bar coder 4 cars....r another indication that we will all soon b wearing bar codes.....think what the gov'ies r trying
2 do....is keep their billet open...as less and less money is being set aside for human wo5kers...in gov.
we now have an "automated" system at the VA hospital....so that from 10 to 2 each day they say...they do not need people to man the dept.....only think is u need 2 give all the users a course n computer useage......\\hey, whey not......

I don't get the impression you ever went through a pre-EZpass tollbooth.

the EZpass doesn't depend on what sort of car you have. How can it not work on "some cars"? And, despite that, even if only half of the cars going through are EZPass capable, that's still alleviating half the toll traffic. If the machine doesn't work for you and it happens frequently, maybe you're doing something wrong.

major bugs or not i am one of the many that sit for precious minutes in the non ezpass lane and every time i am unfortunate enough to have to drive on the bridges or thruways i am green with envy. having a standard transmission in a line 30 cars long gets real annoying, especially in the summer. i long for the opportunity to see someone gate crashing i believe this would alleviate the boredom of waiting quite nicely that is unless it made my wait longer somehow

There are some cars out there where the windshields are leaded so as to block the signal. That is why they decoided to make the bumper mount units which dont seem much better.
