In the section on "The Siege of Acre", second paragraph, the text reads: "... silo of shots ..." . Should this be "... salvo of shots ..."?

Same as above. Lead is pronouned "led" when it is the metal. When it is the verb led is the past tense. In the verb to lead it rhymes with bleed and is immediately recognised as being wrong.
I'm really enjoying the article and I think it is well written. Sorry to be pedantic, but there is a high standard to maintain.
