A Day at the Lake
'Come on! I want to go to the lake.
No! You haven't got time to bake!
For Heaven's sake Terri, get a move on.
If we don't go soon we'll miss the sun.'
'Then go! My French/Nordic lover!
I would not want you to cover
Yourself in my expensive suncream.
Perhaps you should buy yourself a screen?'
And so he rushes off to the lake,
Where he lies in the sun to bake,
Until the end of the day will bring
Home a very red, lobster Viking!
He comes home with more than a glow
'Wah,' he said, 'You made me go!
For had you told me not to flirt,
At least my skin would not now hurt!'
And so Terri can laugh and think
As she stands at the kitchen sink,
'I was not the one who wanted to bother
Sunbathing at the lake with my French/Nordic lover!'
