Wish I could get a little time to visit - weekends are a little better. Weekdays consist of wake up, prepare bag lunch, sit at computer and prepare jobs (and check h2g2), go out and do field work for jobs, return, do office work for jobs, rub eyes to stay awake, check h2g2, fall asleep.

Sometimes I wish I just had a regular job with regular hours - but then I remember that I always leave such jobs eventually.

There are redeeming days - Tuesday, I was surveying the ranch of an old man who's daughter & grandson were visiting. We got to talking and He offered me an ostrich egg out of the clear blue. Then his three-year-old grandson followed me about talking a mile a minute, stopping and punctuating his speech with an occasional 'what the heck was that about?' (shoulders shrugged, arms slightly out, palms open) smiley - laugh

I think of your dad often, though of course I've never met him. My dad passed on last February - he had trouble breathing - all his life actually - but it became a real struggle near the end. I can only imagine how it must have been, because he adamantly refused to even acknowledge any health problems (being a christian scientist - which is a bizarre church imo).

For now, best to you and your Dad and Mum and all.

Thank you, I am constantly amazed by people I meet, how something so simple as an ostrich egg offered can provide one with a lasting memory etc.
Some children are obviously recycled old souls - midwives see it all the time, apparently.
The moment my eldest daughter was born and placed in my arms, I looked at her face and she looked so damned smug, she knew what was coming and was going to enjoy every minute. Even today at 28 she says she can remember being a baby and enjoying all the fuss (she resents being an adult in the way that nobody does anything for her like I did)

Recycled old souls - yes indeed I have met some of these.

I simply accept reincarnation - It makes a great deal of sense and I there is no compelling reason not to accept it. I heard someone once say 'I wanted to learn discipline - so I was born to my mother' and I had one of those feelings you get when you are suddenly struck with a simple truth.

Moreover, time seems to me to be more of a way of organizing things that are happening all at once. So not only do we likely have many many lives - I suspect that we are living all of them at once - I mean that we not only learn from previous experiences, we are also learning from future ones. Anyway, just an idea I have.

Back to recycled old souls - you generally know when you meet one. I'll bet Shirley McLain is one of these. smiley - smiley

'New' souls are also recognizable - I think our president, the man-child, is one of these. smiley - erm

Hey, here's something you might enjoy. I found this while poking about somewhat randomly. It's Bruce Willis in one of his many appearances on the David Letterman show.
