A Conversation for The World's Best Beaches
Wharariki Beach, South Island

There is a beautiful beach at the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island, near Farewell Spit. It's not a place for tanning, as it can be chilly and the wind blows like a gale. There is a vast plain of sand, big dunes, impressive rock formations, caves, seals, mussels, tide pools, and all kinds of amazing things. Make it a day trip from Takaka or Collingwood.
