Johnners was reputed to answer every single letter he received, and I believe it, since he answered mine - twice 
I sent an SAE with my letter but the two somehow got seperated in the melee of the TMS box at The Oval and the envelope was all he could find, so he sent me a page of autographs from TMS commentators. A few days later I got another reply from him saying that he'd found my letter and answering the question I'd put to him in it.
What a nice bloke
