Anyone have any ideas on another section? It seems a bit short and the sections don't really blend with each other.

stupendous job, jodan, made the front page and i'm just done reading it. i e-mailed shazz about including a reference to it in the 'sporting with egon' thread for this week's h2g2 Post, where i write on american sports news.
another great thing about baseball are the 'what-ifs' in its' history. what if walter johnson pitched on a winning ballclub? could he have neared cy young's win total? what would ted williams' (or bob feller's) stats be like if they had played the years they spent in the armed forces?
great babe ruth quote from 'lou gehrig day' at yankee stadium: as he pulled up to the ballpark in his chaufferred car and tens of young fans gathered for his autographs, he said, sadly, "not today, kids, i'm just here to see a friend."

as heinlein wrote, for valentine michael smith, "i am only an egg."
i was wrestling with the Post deadlines when i saw your baseball essay and that's where i get the mental block-off in trying to write...right there in the first 'graf i melt down and start citing sources until i fall asleep under a pile of 'op.cit and ibid' references and i lose the nmad story i'm trying to tell.
i can get to the nmad ballyard, park in the lot, mingle with the fans there and walking to the ticket gate and on in...until i see the playing field, the white lines, the mound and the batters (and catchers') box in brilliant white lime...
i can't put words around it...it doesn't matter is it's 40 people for a little league game, 400 for legion ball, 4000, 40,000 or 74,000 at the old stadium in the 70's, i can write about PIECES of it, but not the IT of it and you filled in a good part of the background/history....and the words are too many. which word is the 'right' one? how do i describe a feeling?
those are my demons this halloween. i start out writing about one thing--like baseball--and it turns into another and i miss the friggin' point i started out tryin' to make.
thanks to h2g2 for giving me the chance to learn how to learn some more., 'cuz apparently the only way i learn is by bleeping up in public....and reading what i wrote three days ago.
