i agree,the .oo9 in the finger is painful but whats really painful is a .009 under the finger-nail.re-stringing can be a problem if you over-tighten the string....i've had strings snap into my face...potentially disastrous if it hits you in the eye.
is this called suffering for ones art

I've had that too, friggin sore that is! 
But I'm pleased to say my fingers have accepted their callouses very nicely now
