A Conversation for Roundabouts

Conspiracy Theory

The Wisest Fool

Here in Milton Keynes, I can't go a few hundred yards without some roundabout or other. Apparently it keeps the local tyre suppliers flush as one side of each tyre wears out a lot quicker than the other.
Consequently tyres only last a year round here.
One roundabout of interest is the large one near the 'Coachway' coach station just off the M1 where legend has it some girl's dad released a newly born male and female guinea-pig a few years back. Generation-by-generation this has led to a heaving island of inbred pet rodents who even now are no doubt plotting some evil revenge.

Well I never knew that. I don't drive that way too often, I usually only get within about half a mile of it. Next time I'm there I'll look out for the little critters!

Unfortunately,
(a) they did a lot of major roadwork round that way a few months back and (b) I've moved to York now
so I'm not sure if the roundabout is even there anymore. - TWF

Your tyres will last longer if you swap your tyres around every thousand roundabouts. Put the spare on the offside rear, the rearside rear to the nearside front, the offside front to the nearside rear and the nearside rear back as spare.
Especially useful on Hillman Imps and the Triuph Spitfire (as driven by Dynamo Digby) which have front tyre tow-in

Demon Drawer

Hi Cannott Spel, and welcome to the guide. I'm accused of the same thing at times. I'd love to stop and talk, but would prefer to make the greeting on your homepage. Go to "my home", and then "edit page". Type something, anything then press "update introduction" and then researchers can come by and talk to you. Hope to do so soon.

Hemel Hempstead Roundabout

Post 7

Has any one been to Hemel Hempstead. If you leave junction 8 of the M1 and drive down the hill to the city centre. There is this really large roundabout which effectivley you ignore because there are seven or eight other round the edge. If you are heading for Leighton Buzzard you can turn right onto the larger roundabout providing you travel the correct way around the smaller roundabouts. The whole thing seems crazy.
Until this was introduced traffic was mayhem in this new town. A man from the ministry dreamed the idea whilst spending a couple of months on the tall building overlooking the sight, the home of Kodak UK.
This would wear even more tyres than the others at Milton Keynes
