Eilmer is fondly remembered in Malmesbury. Complete with model of his contraption, he is depicted in a stained glass window in the Abbey. In the 1960s the local air cadets reconstructed his flight (greatly assisted by a safety wire). The photographs of this (also on display in the Abbey) are sure to raise a chuckle.
