A perpetual recreation of the legendary 12 man battle of Lake Titcheha in which two 'armies' of 6 men a piece, mounted on bladed boots, attack each other with sticks. The object of the recreation is finally to decide which army won the war in the first place.
The war was the result of an argument between two friends about how to retrieve a frozen buffalo steak from the ice-covered surface of the lake. The argument grew until each boy had a team of five friends supporting him, and they went to war, racing out over the frozen waters, trying to reach the steak with sticks. The modern day recreations have become something of a team sport.
