The h2g2 Poem

Hallo Sailor

She likes the services; in her time

She's been to Norfolk, Biggin Hill, Dover and Hendon

Known a pilot, a sergeant, a customs man and a policeman

(Not necessarily in that order)

But her main predilection is the sea

And those who serve her.

Back and forth to Portsmouth

More times than she cares to remember.

To the Merchant and Royal Navies

She'll come for commerce or

Her Majesty's pleasure..

Then it's back to London

To sit primly behind her desk

Feeling like a home

For discharged seamen.
