I like the entry 
but...
As suggested in PR thread this would benefit from removal of most of the links that were used in the researching this entry, to leave only those few of immediate benefit to those seeking further information, with referenced links within the entry.

Granted, there are lots there - I take your point. But since this kind of big 'linkage' is not a worrying or common occurrence in EG entries, I think we can let it pass, here.
