A Conversation for Wedding Etiquette

Wedding etiquette as regards hats!

Help! As mother of the bride, and possessing dreadful hair that gets quickly squashed when wearing a hat, is it good form for me to keep my hat on throughout the reception. Before the evening party, I can escape and re-do my 'crowning glory', but dread sitting at the top table throughout the reception with my hair looking like road kill. Please advise

Hi. I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I popped by to give you some advice that could give you an answer.

Right now you are in the EG, which is fine and dandy, but not many people come around these parts. If you type 'ask' into the search bar at the top and click on the link for 'ask H2G2', you can post your question in a place a lot more people go, and maybe get a better answer. I hope this helpssmiley - smiley

Here's an answer before you shift it. Twice in the last couple of years I have worn a hat through the wedding breakfast. Having spent a small fortune on them, it seems only fair to get as muck mileage out of them as possible. Up until fairly recently, ladies did not take their hats off when they were in someone else's house.smiley - starsmiley - star
