Lovely piece on a fantastic musical. It seems to have fallen from favor somewhat, but will be rediscovered time and time again I am certain.
Thanks for such a sensitive and compelling piece.

Hi there, and thanks!
I haven't checked this page for a while so wasn't aware of your message until today.

This is a fantastic entry, Gube.
An excellent tribute to - in my view - the only worthwhile stage musical.

Thanks Master B, glad you like it.
Not sure if it's the *only* - have you ever seen Sondheim's Sweeny Todd?
However, the one big problem with Sondheim is that he doesn't write music for dancers. Lenny can write music for anybody (see other entries in this project!).

Hmmm, you sound very much like a drama & dance student I knew at Uni - she raved over Sondheim constantly, but got frustrated because she couldn't choreograph any of his musicals (mostly because he writes in damn silly time signatures ). I quite like Sondheim (Send In The Clowns is one of my all-time favourite songs), but I listen to WSS mostly for Bernstein's music.
