Of course, one should play in a coverband because making music is fun, etc.
But there are other advantages, like free beer, free marihuana, free sigarets, and you get to meet people.
Of the opposite sex, I mean. Somehow, being in a coverband, waving around instruments and performing in crappy bars have the same effect on women as puppies and babies do. Guys involved in any way with any of these things get a lot of attention.
Which is the main reason for most people to get on stage in the first place.
