Today they commemorated a monument on Juno Beach to the Canadians who fought there 59 years ago.
My father's division - the Canadian 2nd Div. was supposed to go, and at the last moment they got pulled back and the 3rd were sent instead.

We've always thought so. Dad, apparently, at the time was mad about it. He'd spend all his time in England, and was anxious to get on with it, but got sent in right after D-Day. I've never wanted to consider the implications of 2nd Div going in to Juno Beach! But Dad always said Hitler never had a bullet with his name on it.

I simply cant think in those tracks, being dissapointed about not going to battle, especially if you know its a tough one
