As any Goodies fan will tell you, a bike with three seats is called a Trandem. And that's what I've bought! A Thorn Me'n'U2 double-childback triplet, me or the missus on the front, and the kids on the back. Brilliant fun smiley - smiley

smiley - smileySo that makes a total of how many bikes/trikes/yikes?

Where do you put them all?

(Definition of yike: a hairy Tibetan HPV.)

How many? There's the recumbent, my tourer, my mountain bike, the triplet, my wife's mountiain bike, Michael's bike, Peter's bike, the trail-a-bike, the garden bike, the green bike which we're keeping for when Peter gets a bit older, and the little red tiny person's bike which he's grown out of.

Sadly they no longer all fit in the spacious bike shed I so recently constructed. The triplet and the 'bent currently live in the kitchen, but that's not sustainable long-term - the triplet is just too big. So I'll have to build another bike shed.

Bit of a long shot, but were you by any chance on the recumbant that turned onto Elm Road last night, then disappeared right off towards Bulmerse School? I was chugging along on an extremely heavily laden mountain bike, and was impressed with you turn of speed! If it was you, that is...

Not I, sadly. Was it a trike or a bike?

It was dark, but it looked very much like a trike. It has to be said that the rider was not fantastically well lit up. I've seen the same one I'm sure chuffing up Whitley Wood Road, which is no mean feat lying down. Do they really climb as poorly as I've been led to believe? I certainly catch plenty on Audax events when going up hill, which would suggest so. Seem to descend OK though!
