Newsflash from Vienna

Tavaron writes:

Austrian News of the Day (21 January): Someone stole a tramway train in Vienna. They turned off the power on the line. He ran away. I find that hilarious: Where would you want to go with it?

The actual driver was in the bathroom.

We have a suggestion: go back to the older-model trams, like these here:

Trams in Vienna in 1898.

That's the opera house in the back. Tav says they look just the same, only 'there now is an escalator down to the subway in front of the fountain.'

So, instead of turning off the electricity, they'd just have to wait for the horses to go on strike because there were no more carrots, we decided.

See? Low-tech solutions work, too.
