Skins

A snake, a jaguar, and a boot. Go figure. By Dmitri.

 

I am linked to this life through various skins,
be they fake snake or nylon leopard,
black jeans are also skin,
and boots with yellow laces,
too thin my naked skin for human,
too thin to protect my heart
from the sharp dart of world,
and yet grateful also
that there is more to me than skeleton.
