what a wonderful article, had me chuckling all the way through. I've been on the Gyratory once or twice don't think I ever drove it myself though, unless I am supressing the memory. of course it was mentioned almost every night on the London area news. Glad it wasn't on my way home from work

The gyratory is just up the road from me... I see it almost every day. I have a feeling that the Guide is trying to track me... it's getting closer and closer... Next there'll be an entry on Alperton Lane... then maybe even Cromwell Rd... Well f*** you big brother. I'm not afraid of you... you're not the boss of me. *shakes fist at sky* You'll never take me alive!
On a more serious note, I always wondered why it was called a 'gyratory system' rather than your common-or-garden roundabout... Now I have my answer...thankyou trebor...
