Someone, somewhere, on one of the threads here, pointed me in the way of the website for NationStates, and I find it to be a nice, breezy break on occasion from goings on elsewhere.
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi
If you join up and create your own nation (or, even if you beat me to it and are already there), consider joining the region of "Hootooers Harbor", as right now it's just me. What use are a chain of islands with sandy beaches if you're the only one playing dictator?
And, of course, I brought my sea monkeys and diet coke with me.

How fun! When I logged in, it said Jennifer Government - and I wondered how they knew my name. It took me a minute to realize that it was the name of the website.

I just looked at the Nation States and it looks interesting. I'm undecided about creating a nation or joining the harbor(need the password)
Think I'll create one and see how it goes, just one problem...the boxes to fill in in the upper right corner are not all visible so I dont know what to put in them except the first box which asks for nation name.
Imma back and look some more

By the way, there's no password needed to get into Hootooers Harbor. Some of the other groups have passwords set, but I haven't seen the need to do that for ours as of yet.

Hi Mickey!
If it's okay with you, the People's Republic of Selly Oak and Harborne, has joined Hootooer harbour.
I'm still working out the ins and outs of the website, and not doing what I should be doing which a literature review on 3 v 7 day course of antibiotics for first presentation of simple UTIs in primary care.

Well, if you had been doing 3 vs 7 days for otitis or pharyngitis, I would have been able to lend a hand -- those were the first two projects I did after graduate school.
I think all I did on UTIs was a review on whether some abx were truly more effective than others, or whether it was just marketing hype.
Definitely glad to have another nation in the Harbor, though! I will stop by there and leave you a message.

Humm I have of course selected the issue by carefully assesing the important factors when deciding what to research.
I have to do a research project, to justify why I am going away from campus for a while.
I want to go to the Outer Hebridies
Practice X is near a nice beach
Practice X would like an audit confirming that their recent switch to 3 day courses of antibiotics for simple UTIs is not producing an increased recurrence rate.
