It was announced a week ago that one of our competitors bought us out. Not really a bad thing considering the way we have been treated the last week. The new company really bends over backwards for its employees.
The bad thing is that in 4 months, none of us has a job unless we relocate to Kansas City, Missouri or Colorado Springs, Colorado.
I have been looking at the relocation option and, the more I think about, the more I like it.
There is really just one thing standing in the way of relocating, custody of my kids is still unresolved. I do expect that things will go my way, I just hope it happens before the option of relocating is taken away.

Colorado Springs, it is closer to home (easier to visit home) has a much lower cost of living than KC (by a couple of grand) and it has mountains. Mountains are a requirement.
There are many other reasons I prefer Colorado Springs to KC, too numerous to list.

I have visited many places, but never Colorado. The pictures of it are just beautiful. Colorado Springs sounds like a great place to raise your kids.
I was thinking that with everything you've been through, this move might be a godsend.

I would be a godsend actually. Looking over all the information I have found, it looks like Colorado Springs would be a better place than Salt Lake to raise kids. The only info I have not found if info on schools.

Colorado Springs just took another jump. The base pay out there is about $3000 more a year than where I am now.

Major hit to Colorado Springs today. Our call center director was out there last week today at break he was telling some of us the conditions in the call center there.
#1 Little or no camraderie between the agents.
#2 No desk of your own, you could end up sitting at multiple desks everyday.
#3 No internet, personal email access, etc.
This type of work environment is not the type I want to work in. So, it looks like I will be staying in Salt Lake for the time being.
