DE, have you considered applying as a Scout? It's kind of a job, though surely not what you need IRL now, but... you're already doing a terrific job around here!

It was both. I like to be ambiguous where possible.

I've thought about it, but don't think I could really put in the time. I've only been able to spend so much time online recently because of lack of work (and I was still using a free uni internet connection) but if the last few weeks of last semester were any indication of the amount of work I'll have to do next year, I reckon I'll have barely enough time to keep up with the conversations I'm in, let alone do any other work...

Anyway I'd never be as organised as Bossel if his Post artcile last week was anything to go by

Well, you don't have to do it this way. You might as well wait for the 'reminder' eMail and take up to a week to supply your picks, and be all set.

I'll consider it more later I think. I quite enjoy just being a peer and not a scout, there's no pressure and I can just flit in and out of Peer review as I feel like it There would also be the situation of new scouts taking away from the number of picks the scouts can make, three every four weeks ATM yes? a few more scouts and it will be two every four weeks. SO unless the system changes so that more scouts have to vote in an article or more get featured each day, I think the scouts can live without me. Until I get a more permanent internet connection anyway

more scouts... not quite. There's a fixed amount of 40 of them, and new ones are taken from the recruiting queue if anybody leaves the bunch. Hence the 3 picks per 4 weeks remains constant.

I had quite the same thoughts, ... the 'why should I, I can go to PR or leave it' thing' ...
This lasted for roughly 4 months and then I thought, well, I'm still doing it, it *is* my kind of thing, and all that is missing are the recommending powers, as small as they may be.
