RIP Ormondroyd

I was away from here when this happened and have just not gotten the news. Ormy was a dear, sweet man. This is terrible news. He made me an honorary member of his Flatcap society on my first trip to England. In a pub in Bradford, if I recall correctly. After he drifted away from h2g2, we lost touch. It is a bit late, but godspeed my friend.

Hi Hyp, yes I remember that Bradford day. If I remember correctly, the pub would have been before Ormy took us to the little Indian restaurant with the table sized naan breads. I think he really enjoyed showing us around his home town. It's a real shame we all lost touch with him.

That was also my first curry! I remember he was astonished when he learned I had never eaten Indian food. Then the following day Ormy took us to the BBC radio museum. I have completely lost touch with Amy the Ant as well. She and Ormy were close friends. I hope she is well.

Right. I stayed at her flat in Leeds. Then she just stopped posting without any explanation. I tried e-mailing her and never got a response. The last I heard, she had moved to Scotland.
