what you have to consider is this: It's been 49 years since her last visit when Dwight Eisenhower was president. I really don't think at 81 she is going to last another 49 years

I think that is what a lot of traditionalists are hoping for. The current missus of Prince #1 is much less than popular, as is the whole history of that prince and The Lady D. My wife is very interested in the Royals, and keeps me apprised as to the goings-on.

Yeah, except Charles would be a much better monarch than either of his offspring, his current wife is immaterial. In fact of all the current royal family I only really have any respect for 4, 5 if you include Philip, of them and my respect for 2 of those comes from them serving in a military aspect during a war...oh and my respect for prince philip comes from him just being hilariously funny at times.

That is almost precisely the response I have received from a small number of English Ladies as well. Not very popular, eh?

Oh you gotta admit some of the things he comes out with are just classic. Personally though I'd like to see maybe Charles follow the queen and then virtually scrap the monarchy. Not neccessarily completely as I'd hate to see a GWB running the UK, but almost.
