Whilst lurking through the space of ictoan S.H.A.D.O.W. Secretary-AWA-WAWi earlier today, I read the information about the Oscar Wilde Awards; and this got me a wondering yet again - must stop this wondering, there's no tellin where it might lead!
Oscar Wilde is definitely one of my all time favourites - his ascerbic wit and put-downs virtually unmatched (in my humble opinion). Then I got to thinking about others whom I admired enormously, who follow hot on his heels - like Quentin Crisp:
"There was no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse"
Or the incomparable Sir Noel Coward:
"Certain women should be struck regularly - like gongs"
Unless I'm very much mistaken, the above were all of the Gay persuasion. Is it coincidence or is there something magical in the makeup (I'm not talking cosmetics here!) which gives/gave them this wondrous gift?
Having said all this there are some lovely quotes attributed to Churchill.
Why am I talking to myself like this, praps nobody will read it, then it won't matter if I ramble on - I'm allergic to mushrooms; so its not magic ones. Still it makes a change from talking to the dog.

Hello Scorpio Witch!
I am green with envy! You've managed to retire early!! If only..... I have 2 years, 155 days and 6 hours to go before retirement (not that I'm counting, you understand!) and I can't wait.
I like talking to my dog, but if I talk to her too much and at close range her response usually involves a very wet tongue, wrapped round my tonsils if she can possibly manage it.
So, what do you do with all this free time now?
