h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I haven't got time for this Having got totally fed up with the triffid type rhubarb in the garden, I've cut masses of the damned stuff out and Was in the middle of making loads of rhubarb crumble for the freezer.

Now I'm decamped in the lounge 'cos a wasp is in there and I'm terrified of wasps. SS is away and number one Daughter is at work.

Why oh why did I have the back door open? I should have known something horrid would smell the fruit!

Could you go out the front door,and take a peek in from outside,to see if it's gone??You've more room to if you're outside!

Lil! that was an absolutely cracking comment! It reminded me of the picnic hamper upstairs; complete with coffee, kettle and little camping stove. Ta very much.

Smurfles! I've already done that and the little bl***er is still in there. Stupidly, I wouldn't mind if it was a bee - they don't bother me at all.

I hope you managed to get rid of the little blighter and it didn't spoil the rest of your day. Mmm! Rhubarb crumble . I have a drawerful in my freezer. I think I shall make one and surprise PHM. We don't have puddings these days so it will be a nice surprise.

My eldest son brought a carrot and lemon cake over yesterday that he had made, for PHM's birthday, and I am afraid the four of us demolished it!! the cholesterol!!

I am quite happy about bees too, but wary of wasps. Not scared, but I would prefer them to go away. A couple of years ago we had a nest in our loft, and from time to time one appears, dopey, in various places in the house. They seem to live in the cavities, but haven't been a nuisance as yet.

Yes thank you all; and particularly GB for squishing it it is definitely not there now. I think somebody must have been looking through the wrong window 'cos all my dirty pots were in the dishwasher!

Today I have been incredibly stupid (again) Scooted up the M1/18/180 this morning, totally forgetting that first thing I was a bit chilly and put the central heating on. I got back at 4.30 to find the cat; fast asleep, sprawled out on the shoe rack by the hall radiator, almost toasted. I've got all the windows open and it's still hot. Hope waspie doesn't come back
