I have been inconsolable for the last three weeks.
My wife, who is a decade younger than I and thinks a radio is only for the car, cannot understand why I have placed a black lace cloth over the wireless in the kitchen (where I am regularly banished to listen to my 'odd little programs').
Although I will miss the show, and most of all Humph, I genuinely hope that they do not simply replace him, even with someone as venerable as Barry Cryer.
Time for the BBC to release a boxed CD set of some of the best episodes (two or three hundred would be sufficient).
Perhaps they can fill the slot on R4 with reruns of Old Harry's Game...

Nah. The show has to end. I hope they don't try someone like Stephen Fry. But I find Old Harry a little patchy. I prefer 'Claire in the Community'.
