Wasn't the problem the fatty ham, rather than the picallili/picallily (I'm sure either spelling is acceptable)?
Don't fancy pickled eggs in a pub, though. Surely they don't go with beer?

Oh....and Achaar is pronounced Achaaaaaaah and generally refers to any kind of spicy pickle. Think 'lime pickle'. Nice stirred into a curry too.

Oh YES!!! the fatty ham....I'd forgotten that bit, funny how memory works, it has been a while since I've read those books! I just recalled the pickle cos talking pickles..
Oh lime pickle, yum I thought it sound Indian-ish

I make a mean curry I've never actually had tofu, so I can't comment on that stuff. That name is awesome - Flaming Pie .. heeee!
