I'm not really here Posted Oct 30, 2006
"Some people really do think they are something "special", don't they?"
My parents think they not only own the space outside their own house, but the spaces outside the next two houses up the street... It drives me mad when they complain about neighbours parking in *their* spaces, and that they often park in a way to block other people from parking there. They don't go so far as to mention it to anyone else though.

Edward the Bonobo - Gone. Posted Oct 30, 2006
I've just remembered...years ago a friend used to park in a street near a junction of the A1(M) in Hertfordshire and hitch hike up to his parents' in Northumbria. He used to get residents shouting at him for 'blocking the road'...one of those leafy avenues that you could comfortably get a whole Red Army tank formation down.
(He was a major hitcher. He was a hang glider and sometimes he'd land in a field a couple of hundred miles from where he started and would have to make his way back to his car. I *think* he left his glider stashed at the landing point).

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
