Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

I recently recieved a large kick up the rear-end. The company I have worked for for the last 6 years is closing the department I have worked on all this time and are going to "redeploy" me. I do love that word, what it basically means is "Hey, Magwitch, you have it good for six years, now come and find out why we have a very large turnover of staff in the rest of the company"
Thanks guys, but I think I'll give it a miss. It was never my intention to work my whole life in a call centre and now you have given me the perfect reason to leave and apply for my dream.
Primary school teacher....not rocket science I know, and also by all accounts not as easy as it first looks, however, have been meaning to do it for a while (ten years, to be precise) and now seems like the ideal opportunity.

Pah, motoring organisations...bye, bye. I wont be letting the doorknob hit me where the door should have bit me.....

Well I hope that the wind blows in the right direction for you, I had enough of school when I was a mini-me, so I'd hate to go back. They say that we only do these things when forced to, I was doing a loathsome job until I was forced to make a change and now I am having a great time in my new "career"

That's the problem with me at the moment. My current "career" is far too easy to give up readily. I work from home at my own pace without a boss breathing down my neck. If don't fancy working one day, then I don't. It's a little bit *too* easy and comfortable to contemplate leaving just yet! If i'm going to do it, I've got really do it soon though - time is catching up with me smiley - yikes

Sounds a great job! What do you do?
Seriously speaking, sometimes just going for it works in the long-run but I can understand that! Getting me to do anything is like putting a cat out in the rain! When I have actually gone for it, it usually works out though. That's the tough thing with time though, it creeps up on us all!

The actual job itself is quite boring and repetitve, I'm a Market Research Quality Control checker. Which means I ring people who have had a face to face interview and make sure that the interviewer not only did it, but did it properly. Not exactly rocket science, but it pays well enough and allows me to watch Doctors everyday smiley - winkeye

er...see what you mean, still someone's got to do it and it gives you freedom, not sure about the whole "doctors" thing though!
