h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well, this is just a small announcement/memorandum to say that I finally got back to writing some dandy guide entries that I started a while ago. They wont be stuck in my entry list till Im happy with them, and also make for a nice surprise when I inflict them on people.

The topics are:
Cowardice: A Users Guide
Smugness (is actually the one in my list, but have expanded it somewhat outside hootoo)
Analysis of the human ability to moan (provisional title)
...and a couple of others.

Feel free to make comments and/or suggestions concerning each of these and Ill probably credit you if I steal them. Also, if they dont appear within three to four weeks, poke me because I will have forgotten.

Cowerdice:
No being able to face up to live
When things don't go your way, pretending to take the high ground and using it as an excuse to quit
Being prepared to fire the arrows but not having the gutts to face up to the ones being fired and using your skil to catch them and through aside
Not giving things time to understand the greater picture, but instead running away before the first reel

I can go on

Now now dear simetra, be nice. A choice was made and followed though. Only cowardice because of not wanting retaliation, but still strength because he did what he did.
Ooo, actually, yes thankyou I can use that.

I hope you did not think I was refering to anyone in particular, that you be very wrong, suprise that you would even suspect me of such

Actually Im having trouble with the smug one, cos I cant think of decent examples in literature or somewhere?

Is this a man chat or can we all join in - please tell me to go away if so - I wont be offended.

Oh Carole, as you know bunnyfrog NEVER offends anyone, I am sure he would welcome your input

this is good, both Carole and Lelly are venturing away from the safety of Glum, keep it up there is a whole bunnyfrog related world out there to explore

Actually Sim, if you look on my page you will see that I have quite a lot of other friends (I recently even unsubbed from a few of them because I was getting so much stuff on my page that didn't really interest me )- but I have been busy this year with Lelly and her family so I haven't had as much time as previously and everyone has got neglected except Glum which keeps me coming back!

Incidentally perhaps if you do visit my space you could tell me if you get that "Hello Simetra" message - I found out how do that last week and put it on my page but I don't know if it happens or not - fanx!

Smug. Self satisfied. Too pleased with your own good fortune or abilities. From the German "smuk".

I think smugness is one of the least attractive personality traits - a smug grin always makes me want to smack faces - Mylene Klass of Hear Say hs a particularly smug grin, that really makes me want to do damage - and I am not a violent person!

That said - my 9 week old baby slept through the night last night.

I thought I had clicked into the wrong thread there for a moment. I thought what's up with Lelly,who's rattled her cage (is it her present house guests getting under her feet) what is she talking about, but went back to start and I have caught up now. It's OK - I am getting a bit slow - can I have a blue Zimmer with wheels and a box for my shopping bag for my birthday this year please Lelly?

There are loads of people on telly that I would like to give a good smack! Ann Diamond, Cat Deeley, Lorraine Kelly (funny how its all women) I bet Buns and Sim really love them all (well not Ann Diamond obviously!)!! Ben Fogle and Noel Edmunds really pee me off too though, so it's not all one way.(didn't put my usual smug grin for fear of reprisals!

Ben Fogle? Really? Whats wrong with that poor man? (He is the one who was on castaway wasnt he?)

I think the problem is he is on every blumming thing these days - Animal Park, Antiques programmes sailing round the world in the nude - you name it. Overexposure (I bet there was on that little boat). I it's just his face and his silly hair and his voice and the way he says "the" when a vowel starts the next word - like the animals where most of us would pronounce it "thee animals". Does that sound a bit picky - it just irritates the hell out of me I never liked his mother either and he looks a bit like her.
