Ggguuurrr.
I was doing a project for mythology(one of my high school classes), and my friends and I were nigh on finishing it up, when the teacher up and changed the requirements. Now we have to make one that fits "modern america". Our previous myth was so much better. It told the story of the world. More specifically, the switch from polytheism to monotheism.
Why does it have to relate to "modern america"?
Why O why?
Grrrr!

Try this - grab a copy of American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
It's all about the gods of old (and new) set all across America.

Thanks Clive, but we went with plan "B."
The heroes (if they can be called that) had to pass high shcool (fourth try) and they were helped by the goddess of school.
Our other one was so much better.
O well, what's done is done.
or is it?
Grrrr!

If you can, get a hold of the author's preferred text - it's has a few additional parts to it that expand the original version and make SO much more sense.

84% - well above three-quarters. Good Job.
Shame about not getting to do precisely what you wanted but be pleased with the result nonetheless.
an Enjoy Americna Gods - well worth the read if you are interested in this sort of thing.
I've decided I'm going to tackle Dante's Inferno (finacee has a translation) after I'm done reading Bill Bryson's study of English Etemology "The Mother Tongue" - terrifially a musing and enlightening.
