Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Apr 10, 2002
I suppose I shouldn't have replied to this to prove your point!! a bit like those birthday cards with how do you keep an idiot in suspense printed on the front. You open the card up and it says inside - turn to the front of the card....
What's with the change of researcher name?

The Deceptive or "Classic" Troll. More sophisticated but often easily identified and exposed, the Classic Troll gratifies his ego by pretending to be someone or something he or she is not. Classics make up elaborate stories about themselves, sometimes weaving some amounts of truth into their lies. As a web of lies is difficult to build with consistency, however, Classics are often "outed" by other forumites. When this happens, Classic Trolls have a bag of tricks to which they turn:
Very close to home me thinks... ~Grin~
Me does not want to be outed...

I totally understand about being outed, not of course that I'd know anything about having an alter ego - or three knocking about. ~unconvincinggrin~
One of them is obvious, the second I cocked up and signed one of his posts as me, the third.... I'll 'fess up when I have to.

No three others on top of this one! I think I had another before Rupert, but I couldn't remember what the logon was when the site was up and running again

I cocked up and signed one of my latest charecter's posts with Bassman , but I think I got away with it as most of the other researchers involved aren't people I run it to regularly, plus it's one of those where posts happen quite quickly.

I am Bassman
No... I am Bassman
I am Bassman and so is my wife.
Bassman is the real me.
The Minister of BLACK is an alter ego - dark, authoratative
It's his Ministry and he wants it the way he likes it
I've been getting a little hassle from Grey Desk, which I would just laugh off, but The Minister has taken it to heart and has a cunning plan to sort things out
Scrotum is a wrinkled old manservant at the Chap's Club. I don't post him very often, as he's supposed to be so old it takes him ages to do anything.
The last one, that I'm not 'fessing up to yet is mean and shouts a lot - or he did until it became apparent that people in general didn't get the joke.

Me expects there are lots of alter ego's on h2g2... me wonders if me speaks to the same person most of the time... just different names... maybe they are all Peta... ~grin~

GreeboTCat Posted Apr 16, 2002
Well at least it wasn't moderated... ~Grinny grin~... and you did bring the subject up...
Hmmm... according to the h2g2vine... your other alter ego is non other than a famous boxer... is this true...
