It must be the most awful thing to be faced with two options of either suppressing your innermost characteristics, or having no friends!
Fortunatly there's also rule number three which I have discussed briefly with the imaginaries, and they advised me that it was time for a biscuit and a glass of warm milk.
So that got us nowhere.
Being an animator/illustrator, I have a wonderful excuse for having imaginary friends as an adult. At least, that excuse allows strangers a small measure of comfort that they are not in the company of a maniacal loony... not yet, anyway!
But here I take a stand and advocate that every adult should have the right to bear imaginaries - and not be ashamed of admitting to them. Why do children get all the fun?
Of course, the imaginary are quite quite separate from the imagined reality - and neither should never be taken overly seriously. Seriousness is not for the making of the bucket-of-happiness!
Being able to imagine several aspects of yourself, even to the point of conversations amongst.., whilst remaining fully aware of your own personality, is not madness - it's creativity.
I smell milk burning on the stove. The problem with imaginaries is their tendency to wander...
