h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The Danish women's team just won the 5th European Handball Championships!

And not only did we - they, to be honest (my personal efforts was a very intense cheering in front of the TV ) - do it, they won all 8 games, lost none, had three players out of 7 on the all-stars team, including the tournament's best player overall, goalkeeper Karin Mortensen.

Congrats, Santra and other women.

I have to admit though that I don't understand a bit of that game. Not that I actually care.

Even when we don't win it's a fabulous game. Aside from ice hockey probably the fastest team game there is. Very technical, very fun to watch.

(I'd be completely winded and ready for oxygen inhalations about 2 minutes 14 seconds into a 2x30 min game...!)

And actually I like the women's version more - more technical, less "hardball" physical.

*shrugs and shakes head*

I'm afraid I am just not much in sports. The best bit of the olympic games is the opening ceremony.

OK, no harm in that

My wife - though she did follow todays' game rather intensely as well - did look worried at my "eruptions" now and then... she probably worried about the life of the sofa I was sitting ... ... cheering in...
