Oh god. I have just spent the last couple of days watching "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin". I bought the whole series as a box set on eBay, because I thought it was very unlikely to ever see it again on TV, and I've been thinking about Reggie Perrin again during the last months. He's just my hero. Oh god, this show is so wonderfully funny and sooo incredibly melancholic
. That last episode now leaves me with such a deep sadness as only fiction can.
In my life there's no laughter, no love, no greatness. And does it ever get better? How do you cope with hopes getting crushed again and again? And everything being mediocre. The best joy I ever get is from music, and that's a private pleasure; or fiction, in form of books or films or TV, and that can't be it, can it?
I'm not sure if I should really post this, it sounds pretty bad.

Hmm, I posted it anyway, it's how I feel. I know it will get better again, probably when I stop thinking. Can't be it, either, can it?

I think today I'll write in my diary for a change . During the last weeks I've either written here or on the LiveJournal, but I think this is getting too private. But I really *need* to empty my head, it's so full and I'm walking as if in a dream, not being able to concentrate on real life.

oooo..a I haven't seen that one afore!
I'm not sure how to word this properly and meaningfully, but if a book, piece of art - whether it be on telly, canvas, written, not man-made or man-made in someway...makes you feel something and you like it...or enjoy the melancholy then that is ok...to do...no it isn't *it* - there is more...and you will get there, just you are working, studying, learning...eating, sleeping....reading...watching....
Be patient...it will come to you or is already there...just you have other things on your plate so to speak...
Key: Complain about this post
