I got a fancy new mobile today. Sony Ericsson K700i. I know it's not *the* latest, but I didn't want a contract, and couldn't afford an even fancier one that's prepaid. Now I can take photos!
I also got my mp3-player changed at the store (didn't tell them that I had bought it more than a year ago...), so I've got a fully functioning thingy again
And I'm appartment-hunting. I've only written e-mails so far, haven't brought myself to call the people Does anybody know a trick to overcome shyness for a couple of seconds, so that I can dial? Sounds stupid
, but I really am avoidant.
It's a bit much at the moment to organise, if I could choose, I would take a little break, and then carry on with responsibility. Yes I know, who can do that, nobody can, right. But I'm treating myself still carefully, not asking too much, just little steps, I'm still feeling like in a recovery phase.
I think I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow..

It was too full at the hairdresser's, so I'll leave it to next week. My hair is long again now, and totally out of shape
Last time I got it cut was before my birthday in June. And I coloured it in autumn (which brought me the nice nickname "pumpkinhead") and that's grown out, too.
*chat*
So what are you up to at the moment JEllen?

oohhh a new phone...I need a new phone too, I just haven't gotten around to it yet...
er...overcoming shyness..I don't really know what to say about that one...that stuff comes with experience I think...just call and have a lil list of questions ready about the apartment so you can look at...and as for small small just say, hi my name is S, how are you today...I'm calling with reference about blah apartment...and then just wing it from there people are usually happy to carry the coversation when they are advertising stuff such as an apartment..

Thanks Vix.
Oh, I need to swich the computer off...but I still don't know which English-test I need to take
Long story...
Well, it's actually not long: I have to take a foreign language course, with a special emphasis on either economy, law, or culture. And I don't know which of these three I have to take, or if I can choose. And for the 3 different courses are 3 different initial tests. I don't know what to prepare
I also read your story about the neighbour and her missing cat..Strange

I just called three people, but all appartments were already taken *sigh*
I still find it difficult to make the calls..I make myself nervous because I know "this is something important, I musn't mess it up, or get the price wrong, I musn't forget to ask about this and that.." and then I don't know the names of the advertisers, and they speak with lovely, un-understandable accents...
Maybe more luck next time.

Have you tried making a checklist of things to ask, and just going down the list during the phone call? I get nervous on the phone too, with strangers at least.

Yes, I have a detailed script, so I don't forget things
And I have arranged 2 visiting appointments for saturday up til now. I'm trying to find maybe 2 more possibilities, so that I have a little choice.
I think I was joking before "They speak differently there.."
Well no joke there at all! I have great difficulties understanding them accusticly, who knew that accents could be that different..
So - tomorrow I'm off, going 8 hours by train luckily with my Mum, so that I won't feel completely lost (only a little). Until next wednesday everyone!
